So I was driving a stubborn screw without gloves, and the screwdriver slipped and punched right into my palm. Could've been bad, but I had on those cut-resistant gloves I got from the safety aisle. Not a scratch, just a dull thud. Guys, seriously, wear your PPE even for "small" jobs. Also, anyone recommend a good pair that doesn't make your hands sweat like crazy?

Glad you're okay! I always use gloves too when dealing with screws or anything sharp. For the sweat issue, check out the Mechanix Wear M-Pact. They've got good ventilation and still protect. Or if you want more precision, the Klein Tools cut-resistant ones are thin but still stop blades. They breathe better than most.

Nice save! My tip: always keep a pair of safety glasses in your toolbox too. I had a broken screw head fly up and hit me in the glasses. Without them, I'd have lost an eye. For gloves, I like the Ironclad General Utility. They're kinda cheap but good for control and don't make my hands too sweaty.

Thanks for the recs! I've been eyeing the Mechanix ones. And Rick, yeah I always have glasses on now after reading a story on here. Funny how one close call changes everything. Stay safe out there!
