Hey guys, got an issue with my cordless drill. the battery pack is less than a year old but it won't take a charge. Light on the charger flashes red and green. Tried a different outlet, still no luck. Any suggestions before I trash it?

Ah man, that sucks. First thing, check if the contacts are clean - sometimes they get grimy. Also, try leaving it on the charger for a full 24 hours, some chargers need a reset. If that doesn't work, might be a dead cell in the pack. You could try replacing individual cells if you're handy with a soldering iron.

What brand is it? My DeWalt did that once and it was a bad charger, not the battery. Borrow a charger from a friend to test. Also, don't buy cheap knock-off batteries, they're junk. Stick with OEM.

Before you buy a new battery, try freezing it! I heard that can revive old NiCad packs. Put it in a sealed bag in the freezer for 24 hours, then let it warm up and charge. Sounds weird but it actually worked for my Ryobi. Otherwise, look for deals, I got a refurbished pack for half price.
