Hey all, just a quick reminder after a close call today. I was driving screws with my impact driver and a screw broke mid-drive, sending a shard of metal right at my face. Fortunately, I had my safety glasses on, but it got me thinking – how many of you wear PPE when using screwdrivers, especially impact drivers? I know it's easy to skip, but it's not worth the risk. Any tips for comfortable safety glasses that don't fog up?

Good reminder! I'm a contractor and I've seen too many guys lose an eye or get hurt from flying debris. I wear safety glasses religiously, even for quick jobs. As for fogging, I use anti-fog wipes or get glasses with vents. Also, make sure they meet ANSI Z87.1 standards. And don't forget ear protection if you're using an impact driver all day – they can be loud!

Back in my day, we didn't have all this fancy PPE, but I've had my share of close calls. I remember a time a screwdriver slipped and nearly took out my thumb. Now I always wear gloves and glasses. For glasses, I like the ones with a strap so they don't fall off when I'm leaning over. Also, keep your bits in good shape – a worn bit can slip and cause injury.

Thanks for the replies! I never thought about ear protection, but you're right, those impact drivers are loud. I'll look into some with high NRR. And I'll definitely check for the ANSI rating on my next pair. Appreciate the tips!
