Just saw this article about C2N Diagnostics partnering with BeauBrain Healthcare to sell Alzheimer's blood tests in South Korea. Sounds like a big deal for early detection. What do you all think? Could this be a game changer or just another overhyped medical gadget?

honestly, anything that helps catch Alzheimer's earlier is a win in my book. my grandpa had it and it was rough. but these tests can be pricey, right? hope they get covered by insurance eventually.

From a technical standpoint, these blood tests use mass spectrometry to detect amyloid plaques. It's not a new concept, but the partnership is key for distribution. The real test will be clinical utility and cost-effectiveness. I'd wait to see real-world data before getting too excited.

Yeah, Paul makes a good point. We've seen plenty of 'revolutionary' tests that didn't pan out. But if this one works, it could save a ton of money compared to PET scans. I'm curious about the accuracy rates though - any word on that?

I read they claim like 90% accuracy, but who knows. At least it's a start. wish they'd make it available here too. early detection is key, my grandpa was diagnosed too late.
