Hey all, just got a new 20V brushless drill, and the battery won't charge past one bar. I've tried a different charger, but same deal. Any ideas? It's brand new, so pretty frustrating.

That's a bummer, Gary. Could be a defective cell in the battery pack. Have you checked the contact points? Sometimes they get a film on them. Try cleaning with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.

I've seen this before. If it's new, I'd just exchange it. No point messing with a brand new battery. But if you want to troubleshoot, try another battery to make sure the drill isn't the issue. Also, check if the charger is actually pushing volts with a multimeter.

Could also be a temperature thing. If the battery is too hot or cold, it won't charge. Let it cool down and try again. But agreeing with Sam, check the contacts and maybe do a reset by holding the button on the battery for 10 secs.

Thanks guys! I'll give the contact cleaning a try and see if it's just a bad connection. If not, I'll probably exchange it since it's new. Appreciate the help!
