Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade my circular saw. I've been leaning towards the DeWalt 60V FlexVolt but I hear the Makita XSH03Z is a beast. Anyone used both? I do a lot of framing and some finish work. Trying to decide between power and battery compatibility with my current tools.

I've got the DeWalt 60V and it's a beast for ripping. The blade brake is instant. But if you're doing finish work, the Makita is lighter and smoother. Makita's batteries last longer too from my experience. DeWalt's 60V batteries are heavy, but you get the power.

I own both. For framing, DeWalt hands down. More torque, cuts through treated lumber like butter. The Makita is nicer for precise cuts and the dust collection is better. If you have other Makita tools, go that route. I'm somewhat a DeWalt fanboy but the Makita is solid.

FYI, check the weight. DeWalt 60V is around 12 lbs with battery. Makita is about 9.5. If you're on a ladder all day, your arm will thank you. Also, Makita's electric brake is quieter. Just my 2 cents.
