Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my circular saw and stuck between Dewalt and Makita. Dewalt seems tougher but Makita has those brushless motors. Which one gives more bang for the buck? I mostly do framing and some deck work.

I've used both. Dewalt feels heavier but it's a tank. Makita is smoother and easier to handle for me as an apprentice. My boss runs Dewalt and they take a beating. But Makita's saws are more accurate out of the box IMO.

Listen, if you're framing all day, go Makita. Lighter weight saves your arms. The 36V is a game changer. I've had my Makita for 3 years, dropped it off a ladder, still cuts straight. Dewalt is good but you'll feel it at 4pm.

I restore old homes, so I need precision. Makita's magnesium saws are my go-to. Light and accurate. Dewalt's fine but their dust collection is garbage. For your budget, check out the Makita XSH03Z. It's a beast and won't kill your wallet.
