Hey guys, found a practically new DW735X at a garage sale for $300! It's the 13-inch thickness planer with the extra blades and infeed/outfeed tables. I've been using a cheap benchtop planer that's loud and leaves snipe. Should I keep it or flip it? Seems like a steal but I'm not sure if it's overkill for my weekend projects.

Dude, that's a no-brainer! DeWalt makes the best planers in the game. I've had mine for 5 years and it's been a tank. $300 is insane, retail is like $600+. Keep it, you'll never look back. The snipe control is amazing and the helical head is quiet. Just make sure to use their blades, not cheap knockoffs.

I gotta agree, that's a crazy good price. But tbh, if you're just doing small projects, you might be fine with something cheaper. I picked up a used Delta for $100 and it does the job. But if you've got the cash and space, go for it. You could also resell for $400+ and pocket the profit.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna keep it. Steve, thanks for the tip about the blades. I'll stick with DeWalt. Chris, I do have space in my shop, so why not? Plus, if I need to, I can always sell later. Gonna test it out this weekend on some oak.

Nice! Let us know how it goes. Pro tip: make sure to wax the bed before first use, helps with feeding. Also, check the alignment. But these things are solid out of the box. Enjoy!
