So my cordless circular saw (DeWalt 20V max) suddenly stopped charging. Plugged the battery in and the charger light just blinks red, never goes green. Tried different outlets, checked for dirt on contacts. Anyone else had this? Feels like the battery is toast, but it's only a year old.

Could be a dead cell in the pack. I've had that happen. Sometimes if you drain a lithium-ion too far, the BMS (battery management system) locks it out. Try a different battery if you have one? Also, some chargers have a reset – unplug for 10 mins and try again.

Dude that happened to my Ryobi last week. I just bought a new battery from Amazon, cheaper than messing with it. But Tim's right, check if the charger's actually working with another battery first.

I'm with Tim. Likely a dead cell. If you're handy with electronics, you can replace the cells. I've done it on a couple Makita packs. Not for the faint of heart though. Or you could get a warranty replacement if it's still under a year. DeWalt's pretty good about that.

Thanks guys. Tried a different battery, charger works fine. So it's the battery. I'll look into warranty, bought it from Home Depot last year so should be covered. Appreciate the help!
