Hey all, just wanted to share a quick reminder. Was using my angle grinder today to cut some metal brackets for a workbench. I had my safety glasses on but they fogged up, so I took them off for a sec to wipe them. That's when a piece of the cut-off wheel flew right past my eye – missed by maybe an inch. Scared the crap out of me. I've been doing this for years and got complacent. Always wear your PPE, even if it's annoying. And invest in anti-fog or get a face shield if you have fogging issues. Learn from my mistake!

Dang, Dave! Glad you're okay, man. That's a wake-up call. I've had similar with my circular saw – kicked up a chunk of wood and it hit my cheek. I now wear a full face shield over my glasses when I'm cutting. Looks dorky but I like my eyes. Also, pro tip: for fogging, a little dish soap rubbed on the lens helps, or buy those anti-fog wipes. Stay safe everyone!

Ugh, that's terrifying. I always wear my safety glasses but I'm guilty of taking them off when they fog too. I mainly do drywall, so I deal with dust a lot. I found that wearing a respirator with a good seal helps with fogging cause it directs your breath down. And I got these prescription safety glasses with anti-fog coating – game changer. Also, make sure your glasses fit well – mine used to slide down my nose and I'd fiddle with them. Now I have a strap.

Good reminder. I'm a stickler for eye protection, I wear safety glasses with side shields even when just using a screwdriver. You never know when a spring or a chip can fly. And for grinding, I always use a full-face shield with my safety glasses underneath – double protection. Plus, hearing protection! Everyone forgets their ears. Tinnitus is no joke. I've been to too many job sites with old dudes who can't hear. Take care of yourself.
