Safety First! What's your go-to PPE for specialty tools?

Hey folks, just had a close call yesterday with a pipe cutter slipping while working in a tight crawl space. Got me thinking - what PPE do you all swear by when using specialty tools? I always double up on gloves and eye pro, but wondering if I'm missing something for those awkward-angle jobs.

Good topic Paul. For precision work, I'm religious about anti-vibration gloves with my oscillating tools - reduces fatigue and improves control. Also, custom-molded earplugs for prolonged use. SawDustSteve - you must have some collector-grade safety gear stories!

lol Mike you know it! Got a vintage 70s face shield that's mostly for show, but seriously - respirators are underrated. When I'm restoring old tools or cutting exotic woods, a good P100 filter is worth its weight. Paul, for crawl spaces maybe try knee pads with gel inserts? Saved my joints.

Knee pads! Why didn't I think of that... been using folded towels like a caveman. Mike, those anti-vib gloves - any brand you recommend? My hands go numb after hours with the threader.

I like Mechanix Wear's M-Pact line - good dexterity with padding. But honestly, the best upgrade was getting tools with built-in vibration reduction. Sometimes PPE is about choosing the right tool first. Stay safe out there!
