Snagged this Snap-on TechAngle 3/8” digital torque wrench off FB Marketplace for $60. The guy said it was his dad's and barely used. Looks clean, clicks and beeps. I know they're like $500 new. Is this too good to be true or did I hit the jackpot?

Dayum, $60? That's insane. Even if it needs a calibration, that's a steal. I'd snatch that up faster than a Milwaukee on sale. Just check if it's not a counterfeit – some knockoffs look real. Try testing it against a beam style if you have one.

Hold up. Before you use it on anything critical, consider getting it calibrated. A misreading torque wrench can snap bolts or leave things loose. Our shop sends ours out yearly. That said, for $60? I'd risk it on home projects. Just don't trust it for head bolts or something.

I restore old tools, and Snap-on stuff tends to hold up. If it's genuine, you scored. The TechAngle has a battery – check if it's corroded. Also, the digital display can get flaky. But for $60, I'd buy it and use it for light duty. Worst case, you can part it out for more than that.
