Just read this article about Harleys not including tool kits anymore. I mean, I remember my dad's old Electra Glide had a sweet little pouch with the basics. Is this true? What do you guys think?

Honestly, it's a liability thing. Most people never use them, and if they do, they might mess something up. Better to have a proper roadside kit and know how to use it. But I still think it's a shame they dropped it.

Yeah, it's all about cutting costs. Those tool kits were probably $50 retail but cost them $10. Now they save that $10 per bike and call it 'minimalist design'. I'd rather have the kit than a stupid branded keychain.

Who cares about the stock kit? Half the tools were crap anyway. I carry my own roll with Knipex pliers and a ratchet set. But for new riders, it's a bummer. They should at least offer it as an option.

Good points all around. I just liked the nostalgia of it. Guess I'll just buy a vintage kit off eBay for my Sportster!
