Saw this article today. Says Harley might not include tool kits anymore. What do you guys think? I remember my old man's Shovelhead had a full kit under the seat. # Do Harley-Davidson Motorcycles Still Come With A Tool Kit?

For decades, the iconic image of American motorcycling included not just the open road and the leather jacket, but also the small, stored-...

Interesting. I'm not a bike guy, but I've noticed that trend in a lot of industries. My new table saw didn't even come with a blade wrench, had to buy one separate. It's all about cutting costs. I'd bet Harley is doing the same. A basic tool kit is cheap insurance though, especially on a bike that vibrates like a paint shaker.

My 2018 Sportster didn't come with a tool kit. I asked the dealer and they said it's an optional accessory now. Kinda sucks. I ended up putting together my own kit with stuff from Harbor Freight. But hey, at least I know what's in it. Still, you'd think for the price they'd throw in a few wrenches.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I ride a 2020 Road Glide and it came with a tiny kit under the seat, but it's pretty basic. Just a couple of hex keys and a screwdriver. Nothing like the old days. I guess they assume everyone has roadside assistance now. But if you're out in the middle of nowhere, a tool kit can be a lifesaver. I always carry my own set anyway.

Roadside assistance is great until you don't have cell service. I always keep a basic toolkit in my truck. For bikes, I'd imagine a spark plug wrench and some zip ties are essential. LOL.
