Hey guys, I dropped my DeWalt 20V impact wrench from about 6 feet onto concrete. Now the battery won't charge. The charger just blinks red. Battery looks fine no cracks. Anyone had this happen? TIA

Classic DeWalt. Check the battery contacts first – sometimes they bend. Also try a different battery if you have one. Could be the charger too. If it's just the battery, you might be able to open it up and resolder the BMS connections. I've fixed a few that way.

I only use Milwaukee, but my buddy had a DeWalt that did that. Turned out the impact knocked the battery terminals loose from the pack. He just pressed them back in with a screwdriver. Worth a shot before buying a new one.

If it's blinking red on a DeWalt charger, it usually means a bad cell or short. You can test the voltage on the battery terminals with a multimeter. Should be around 20V or more. If it's way low, one or more cells are toast. You can try to jump-start it by charging with a lower voltage, but I'd just recycle it and buy a new battery. Safety first.

Thanks all! Checked contacts, they look ok. Volt meter shows only 8V, so guess the cells are shot. @SanderSid59, what do you mean by jump-start it? I'm about to toss it, but curious.
