Hey everyone, quick safety tip from a guy who learned the hard way. Yesterday I was using a wrench to tighten a bolt on a pipe, and the wrench slipped. A piece of metal flew off and hit me right in the safety glasses. If I hadn't been wearing them, I'd probably be blind in one eye right now. Don't be a dummy like me and think it won't happen to you. Wear your PPE!

Yikes! Glad you're okay. I'm guilty of skipping goggles when it's just a quick turn. But you're right, it's not worth the risk. Gonna start wearing them even for small jobs. Any recommendations for comfortable ones that don't fog up?

Great advice, DrillMaster. As a safety inspector, I see too many close calls. Even a small wrench can cause serious injury if it slips. Also, remember to use the right size wrench – that reduces slippage. And for fogging, get anti-fog wipes or a pair with vents. I use ones with rubber coating for grip. Stay safe!

I never thought a wrench could be dangerous, but you're right. I always wear gloves when handling metal, but eye protection is a must too. Thanks for the reminder. I'm ordering a pair of safety glasses right now!
