Hey all, I just got a nasty pinch while tightening a bolt—dind't think I needed gloves but now I'm rethinking. What kind of PPE do you guys wear for wrench work? I don't wanna spend a ton but also don't want to lose a finger.

I always wear mechanics gloves with good grip. Saved my knuckles more times than I can count. You don't need to break the bank, just get something with padding on the palm. Also, watch out for sharp edges on cheap wrenches.

For heavy duty stuff I use impact rated gloves. They're a bit bulkier but worth it when you're torquing all day. And always safety glasses—I had a chip fly off a stubborn bolt once. PPE isn't just gloves!

Old school here—I just use leather work gloves. They let me feel the tool still. But Pete, if you're worried about pinches, watch your hand placement. Keep fingers away from the pivot point. Also, PB Blaster is your friend for stuck bolts.
